Power Flushing

What is Power Flush?

Central Heating Systems corrode internally with the passage of time and especially if there is some air in the system. This process produces black iron oxide sludge deposits in radiators. These particles stick to all surfaces and restrict flow of heating water through the radiators and the pipework, causing premature failure of pumps and valves. This reduces the Overall system efficiency and you will be spending lot of money for your gas for nothing. In these cases, power flush the whole heating system could improve the system efficiency and save you money on energy bills.


You need to have your central heating system power flushed if:

  • Central Heating system is very old
  • Radiators not warming up properly
  • Lukewarm radiators
  • New boiler installations
  • Sludge and scale in your central heating system
  • Some radiators warm and some are cold

Power Flushing Process.

To power flush Power flush machine is connected to your heating circuit by either removing the central heating pump or a radiator. This process helps us to flush the whole system without removing any additional radiators. Power flush machine then flows the water within the heating circuit collecting all the iron oxide sludge which is then dispensed away. Then rust remover chemical is added and boiler is turned on. This helps to circulate the chemical through the whole heating system. Radiator surface temperatures are measured using Infrared Thermometers to detect cold/rust spots.
